Year 2008, my parents went back to India after spending a year with us here as they enjoyed visiting places like Langkawi, Singapore and many interesting places here in malaysia...
Year 2009 my in-laws visited us and my brother in law did his one month project for his MBA here, also my elder sister's family visited us for couple of months all this made us to feel that we are not missing Chennai for the past 3 years.
Interesting Places visited in the Year 2009 : Cameron Highland, Singapore (again), Genting highland (again) are the places visited besides ding dong from office to home.
Well the most appreciated MOVIES of the year (as of my knowledge) :
Tamil : Poo , Pasanga.
English : 2012 - Transformer – Avatar.

China, will be will prove that it has achieved it's super power status..example the fastest train in the world & much more...Since this Chinese New Year (CNY) is going to be the year of Tiger (from 14th February) the sale of Tiger beer will soar!!!
- Malaysian Prime Minister will be visiting India.
- India will pamper to the world by hosting Common wealth games successfully!!!
Maruti Kizashi will be launched in India which is a D segment car for Rs.10Lacs, the car is expected to compete with the likes of Honda Civic, Toyota Corrola, Skoda Octavia and the upcoming Volkswagen Jetta.
- 2012 & Avatar movies will dominate the Oscars!!!
- Rajni's movie "Enthiran- the robo" will be a great success & will break box office records.
- Kamal will remake the hindi blockbuster movie "My name is Khan" in tamil "En peru Hassan".
- And more important thing in the year 2010 is that I(Simple guy) will be visiting INDIA.

Its high time that you shld make the trip to India. Whether your family has visited you or not, its a refreshing experience every-time you land at Chennai.
One major change that I noticed in Chennai is that Nehru statue at the Kathi Paara jn is no longer prominent as a fly-over has been built:p...

Construction construction and more construction in many parts of Delhi
Good to sit back and reflect!
@L.VS:I think it should be 2009...anyway constructions in Delhi because of Common wealth Games?
Good for our country as we need to have good infrastructure.
More than constructions they need maintenance...
