Today I saw the movie "War of the World" in Santham, Chennai. India.
Tom Crusie the Hero and the man who struggles till the end with his daughter and son. He has lost his home, car, gun, at last the bomb ( in the right place) only to save himself with his kids and give them back to his ex-wife who is pregent, who visits the movie in the first frame and the last frame....
The so called invaders are so sick of our metobolism and the basic micro organism of the Earth, that saves us from the other planet invader who suck human blood and atlast pay for it by vomitting it in different colour...
H.G.Wells was terrific in imagination blended with Stephen speilberg's magificant picturisations, scenes like the planets red mergering into a signal red...the railway crossing closes for the train of fire. Brilliant screenplay, and a most watch for the terrific story telling style.
The reason why I mentioned Santham is that the theatre thought, widely been targeted as if the only spot for movies, has a thrilling way to exit. After WOTW movie, a similar scene was rehearsed by all us while getting down from the 2nd floor, where there was a narrow exit, full crowd, people got so fussed up to act in the scene of going in the crowd...inch by inch with there kids on the shoulder, only gut that moves us is that no alien is back of us...Some ways are terrific then the thriller movies.
what if any fire accident happens???What if there is a push and run in the crowd happens? why does such a good theatre has such a narrow space to exist after seeing the movie? Is it because we have paid money and it a ONE WAY TICKET??
Beware of such theatres...Chennaities!!!

Hm.. point to ponder about the theatre exits..
No one takes any action unless something bad happens..
hi kiran , first time commenting here. opinions differ. i saw the film but i didnt think it is well crafted. Tom cruise given subdued role. i seen in Devi theater where hardly 50 seats occupied , so there is no case of "push and run" in case of fire there. :-)
I found war of the worlds boring....I think it captured more on the emotional side of the attak than anything else (which i did not like...
