Jharkhand trip - II

RANCHI
Ranchi been the capital of Jharkhand state, has a small Birsa munda airport which is also undergoing renovation...(most of the airports are under renovation..be it chennai, or kolkata..is it good to buy infrastructure shares??!!) well..Ranchi university, parliament, court, two lane bowling alley with multiplex are emerging to become a new metro but a long way to go indeed.

Besides this the specialties are the Dhoni's(Indian cricket captain) house, Jaganath mandir (like puri jagannath) on the hills, Dassam falls, and the beautiful Sun temple like that of Konark. The green and dense greenery on the Dassam falls was very close to nature...but been filled with begging children accompanied with stray dogs makes this place more scary to visit..and urges Mr.Arjun Munda to take care of this to improve tourism, as he is already in making more roads and bridges to make this state more potential for investments and development.

Here is the video of Dassam falls

On the part development in this state KFC has opened its shop to feed the people with its spicy chicken and veg foods which is having overwhelmed response from the people here...I happen to taste this KFC only during our last visits as we mostly visit the hotels in and around Dorando, and kali mandir side..

Ranchi is famous for the gala road parties..no not in discos..but rallies..be it ram navami or muharam or Hanuman jayanthi..it will road blocking rallies, loud speaker devotional songs, all the people in the roads, lorries of prayers with loud speakers and dances in the streets..here is the video..where you will the FEMAS(suppose to be famous) PANDIT CHAT SHOP!!!

JAMSHEDPUR
My favorite in Jamshedpur is the food. When it's food it has to be mentioned about the Blue Diamond hotel in sakchi near the bus stop, it's a small punjabi hotel with big size sardars in their tight t-shirits and jeans grooms the place with excellent chicken biriyani, mutton soup, finger fishes..wow..man...I am missing it..this place is always crowded as there will be chairs in front of the entrance where people wait for hours to satisfy their taste bud with reasonable hole in their wallet!!!  we never miss any of our lunch/dinner time here in this hotel as it is walkable from the khalimatti road where we stayed. While walking this distance we have seen khelaywalla sitting in their vehicle and selling fruits, very tasty tea for Rs.3/- Once we went uninvited to an exhibition for automobile retailers in the guruduwar maiden which had ghazal songs by somebody who was singing in full josh to impress the first row VIPs..and we been treated with Alu pakodas which we enjoyed happily!

Telco area is where the Tata Motors office is located here their quarters and house were very good though old style, spacious, road were very board and there we went to Ayyappan temple maintained by the Kerala association.Since its an industrial area we happen to see the large conveyor belts, long funnels emitting flames..smokes..very thick smokes like this photos which are very normal here...

Jubilee park is very famous here and one of the hang out place for the locals as there is a theme park with water games, boating, more over there is  Laser fountain show in this place to illustrate the development of Tata city which shows the history of this city, the efforts of tata who developed the Iron and Steel industry, its growth from generations with some entertainment

BOKARO
Bokaro trips were always on a hurry, so nothing been specific except the sector-4 citi center and the swarnarekha river.M(Ofcourse this river goes through ranchi...jamshedpur too..it has its name as there where golden shine in this river..besides that I could see more dust and mud in this place, with frequent power failures, shops and houses with dim lights and of course Navaratha companies !

DHANBAD
If you happen to roam around this place for 2 to 3 hours and wash your face, you will see the black water in the wash basin! No surprise this is place coal mines, coal..coal everywhere...people taking bags of coal in cycle maybe illegally or legally..heard about Coal mafias...and their fights between groups... during our visit we happen to see the streets filled with police with guns and then came to know about the killing of a coal mafia alias congress member who's been shot dead in a wedding ceremony...that day was declared holiday for this place! That makes me more interested to see the movie "Gangs of wasseypur"

This place is 338km from kolkata so visit Asansol the border of West bengal where we visited the Kali Mandir and 418km to varanasi..so we made a quick trip to Varanasi to see Holy Ganga!

Holy Ganga was divinely dipped in mist made a fest for shady shores and the curvy boats floating there..but the weather made our body shiver! the temperature that is too cool..cool..for the month of Decemember, single digit degree..that has put us in the vibration mode.. need to dip..as a ritual.

Though we covered with extra dresses and ears with monkey cap...still the chill...travels through the spinal..the whole day was without sunshine...gloomy days filled with the visit to Kashi vishwanath temple which had tight security as it is very close to the muslim masjid, separating just by a wall full of fences!!!

Dasswamedha ghat, Munshi ghat, harichandra ghat, and other ghat been seen by the ride in a boat who took us a ride by asking anything valuable as a gift...by giving example of Lord Rama who gave golden ring...well its time to say  I am not Rama but I didn't..as I am.Each ghats has a uniqueness within and a story to say...filled with sadhus calling for rituals and sage quite odd..a monk showed a black and white snake from his pot..and some where there attracting the foreign crowd...everybody there around speak fluent English as been experienced with their visits..totally unforgettable holy experience for me as I am seeing Ganga for the first time in my life.

Enjoyed the aarthi in the evening which was a grand show with lots of foreigners and locals, just by paying few bugs we can get into the boats to face the arrathi for better shoot or view, but I preferred to stay in the shore for the holy aarthi prayer! It was mesmerizing! Yes of course there is reason that Steve jobs roamed here for a while !
